A253126-Bumbles.I am a volunteer at the shelter - I am not connected to the rescue, but the shelter told me this rescue is trying to raise funds to save Bumbles, and so I am trying to help! Please help too if you can... if we all pledge $10 we can help them save him in time!
Of course an adopter or rescue with foster would be even better! But so far this rescue is the only option for Bumbles.
Diamonds in the Ruff, a 501c3 nonprofit rescue, would like to save Bumbles the Pitbull (who was forced to live in a filthy abandoned house for 2 YEARS!) from the shelter. They need to raise funds ASAP to purchase a kennel for him, so he can be safely housed on their property, while they find him a home. AS OF 7/14/09 THIS IS URGENT AS THE 'OWNER' HAS CONTACTED THE SHELTER and may reclaim him to put him back in those horrible conditions! The shelter must release him to his prior 'owner' if the owner says they will supply food, water & shelter since that is all California law requires.

Here is the info directly from Kevin at the shelter:
�Bumbles� (A253126) has spent the last two years living alone inside an abandoned house. His �owner� would come by the feed him and give him water, but the house was covered in waste, his nails were so long it pained him to try to walk. Worst of all, Bumbles had no companionship for two years! Animal Control was notified and brought Bumbles in to the Pasadena Humane Society. Our health staff has treated Bumbles for an ear infection, and he has recovered nicely. We also have neutered him, fully vaccinated him, and gotten him ready to go home. Remarkably, he has no lasting health problems. Bumbles has certainly not let this rotten situation affect his spirit. He is super sweet and loves people. He sits at the front of the kennel when you go by to see him, and gives you gentle licks when you scratch his chest. He loves attention from everyone, so we�ve been trying to make up for the last two years by giving him as much love as we can! Bumbles doesn�t have a lot of experience with other dogs. During his dog-to-dog evaluation, he was a little unsure of himself, so he would probably do well with another calm, older dog. We understand that Bumbles� former owner is making attempts to reclaim him. We desperately want to find Bumbles a loving �forever� home ASAP. We need a commitment for this guy by July 15th.
